I am trying to setup a simple alert that pings a router.  I have read through all the manuals on how to do this and even reinstalled Pandora.  I can't seem to get it to work and turn the status green.  The router does in fact respond to a ping request but Pandora never seems to work.

I have gotten the monitor to work when I ping a computer inside my own network that is on the same switch.  But the routers I want to ping are customer routers off my network.

The Next Agent Contact always says "Out of Limits"

I have the monitor setup as a Host Alive Monitor.  Using type Remote ICMP network agent, Boolean data.  Warning and Critical status are all zeros.  Threshold is zero.

We are trying to move to Pandora FMS to use some of the passive features but I need to get all the active monitors working first.  It seems like I am just missing something, there is no way this could be this difficult on a simple ping monitor.

Any help would be appreciated.

Check a few things.

1) You have a network server up and running.
2) You have defined an IP address for your agent, and your ICMP check.
3) That IP address is correct and if have a name, it's resolved by dns.

Do the check from the Linux under pandora, and see if really got the answer from the server.

Another questions, what Linux system are you using ?
