i've four router in a mesh network, i know that using parent link one by one i can make the "side" of the square (if i imagine the four router at the angle) but how can i make the link between the opposite router?

thanks

Hi Andrea.

As far as I know it is not possible (at least in version 3.1 that I use here).

Hi Sancho.

I needed this feature few times in the past when I was working with "Network view". A typical example is when you have a firewall cluster and want to make it visible through the "Network view". What I do is create an abstract object named as "Firewall Cluster". The problem is that the firewalls (fw1 and fw2) would have "FC" as its parent, but all the other objects behind the firewalls will have the FC as their parent too (instead of fw1 and fw2). This way, the "Network view" becomes strange.

I changed the parent field in all my objects and created some abstract objects some time ago to make the "Network view" more usable to me.

O hope you can get this explanation (my English is not so good...)

Regards.

We are going to changes on that, allowing each module to have a parent, that will be used in the the map viewer, but not in 4.0 version :(

We probably can add as a "feature" the possibility to have new items in visual console: lines, with a ending poing and a starting poing, will be that enought for you ?

Hi Sancho.

It would be cool to have this feature in visual console. For the network map, I already did a work around, but I have so many objects that the network map feature is not useful for me anymore :-(

Maybe, for the network map, would be nice to have a combo box to select the groups you want to see instead of a list that allows you to select only one group. For example: With a combo box I could select the Database, Applications and FireWall groups to see them all at the same time in network map.

Regards.

It's also useful for ESX cluster with VMWare clients.
