Are there any versions of the VMware image that is configured with the English Language?  Is there a way to change it if it's already configured as another language?  Having trouble reading Spanish.

Also is there any documentation on how to install on a CentOS box from scratch i've seen the  documentation for Pandora FMS Server installation but i doesn't fully tell of what the prerequisites are.  Anyone have any insight on this?  Thanks

Hi Agetz,

I did a full install in a CentOS and everything worked. I had to change some parameters because I put the Database and the Pandora Console in two different machines.

Tell me if you need some help.

Regards.

You mean with the keyboard or the Pandora Console interface?

Sorry for not clarifying, I was meaning the Server side.  I've installed the vm version just fine and connected to the console just fine. I'm just more familiar with CentOS, that's why i was asking.

Daniels,  do you have an simple install guide for CentOS?  I'm an avid user of linux and when i come to a curve in the road i give up ease.  I've been working trying to connect agents to the box and i'm getting nowhere.  What's the best way to communicate with agents?  Tentical or ssh?  I've tried both but ready to give up.

When i do ssh i get error msg to check remote host configuration  and private/public key files.
Thanks for your feedback

Start the tentacle server:
/etc/init.d/tentacle_serverd

And use tentacle as a transfer method.

Hi agetz and manu

Agetz, I don't have a guide for CentOS. I upgraded from version 1.3... But I can help you with the issue.

First, the pandora guys recommend the tentacle server, so, it should be your first try.

I use the ssh method because I have already set everything up. If you don't have luck with tentacle and want to use ssh, just let me now the problems so I can help you with this issue (I have some notes about using ssh to connect to pandora server).

Manu, I think that Agetz have problems with spanish language (some guys hereI had problems too) in the Virtual Machine image S.O. All the S.O. messages are in spanish and this could be trick if he needs to install other packages or debug tools...

Thanks guys for the info.

Well i'm back at it. I was out for a week and have decided to go with Tentacle.  I'm assuming that perl and open ssh have to be installed on each client (win2k3 server) in order for the it to communicate to the FMS server?  I've followed the windows guide for the tentacle install and it seems to be installed just fine.  Is there any more documentation other than the windows:guide and the user guide that talks about the configuration of Tentacle.  Was wondering how to continue the configuration with the communication of certs (if necessary) and communicate to the FMS server and how to retrieve from events from the Win2k3 server.  That's a lot of gibberish....anyway looking at forums and more documentation on how to move forward.

To answer your prior questions, yes, i was referring to the Spanish language within the VM image.
And yes, the tentacle_serverd is running

The command i'm using is:c:\>tentacle_client -a 192.168.191.20 -v c:\svc.txt
